David Larry Mummert 77, of Harrisburg, died Monday, December 21, 2015 at Carolyn Croxton Slane Residence.

Mr. Mummert was born in Steelton and was the son of the late Lyman and Margaret (Hughes) Mummert. He was the owner/operator of the former Larry Mummert Texaco Station. He was a Deputy for the Pa. Game Commission, Hunter Education Coordinator, Capital Area Kids Program. He was a member of the Blue Moon Cruisers, AACA of Hershey, Penn Harris Gun Club, Harrisburg Hunters and Anglers, Turkey Wildlife Assn., Rocky Mountain Elk Assn., Masonic Lodge # 7075 F & AM, Lebanon Tall Cedars, Zembo and the Consistory. He did PR for Lebanon Tall Cedars and the Shrine Circus. He ran a MDA Car Show. He was affiliated with Capitol Chapter - Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame, Ducks Unlimited, National Rifle Association and Pa. Wildlife Federation. He was awarded PGC Outstanding Deputy WCO - Southeast Region in 1994 and PFSC - Named to the Hall of Fame - 1992.

Mr. Mummert was predeceased by his sister, Rosemary Carricato and his brothers, Donald Mummert, Frank Mummert, Ken Mummert and John Mummert.

Mr.Mummert is survived by his wife of 34 years, Shirley Freet Mummert; his sister, Janice Wragg of Harrisburg; his brother, LeRoy Mummert of Marysville; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 10 A.M. at the Faith United Church of Christ, 117 N Faith Rd, Grantville. Pastor George Robertson will be officiating. Burial will be in Churchville Cemetery, Oberlin.

A Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2015, from 2 to 4 P.M., at the Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 6011 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg.
