Supporting Conservation Law Enforcement

The Conservation Officers of Pennsylvania Association has been chosen to host the 2010 North American Wildlife Enforcement Officers Association’s annual conference. The conference will be held at the Four Points Sheraton Pittsburgh North, Cranberry, Pennsylvania. The conference will take place from July 11th through July 17, 2010. Throughout the conference, numerous training opportunities will be provided to those conservation officers in attendance. Topics of training seminars will include, but not be limited to, conservation law enforcement techniques, wildlife management, land management, and public education. The wide variety of training provided at the annual NAWEOA conference provides officers the opportunity to learn innovative techniques they would learn nowhere else and enables them to share this knowledge with their peers upon their return to their own state or province. With knowledge and skills gained at this conference, conservation officers leave better able to serve their respective communities and the fish and wildlife resource they are sworn to protect.

The Conservation Officers of Pennsylvania Association (COPA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created in 1994 to provide fraternal and professional development of conservation law enforcement officers as well as to facilitate improved relationships between officers, other agency personnel, natural resource user groups, the general public and those with similar interests. COPA promotes professionalism and fraternalism among Pennsylvania’s wildlife and waterways conservation officers and is the vehicle through which a closer relationship between conservation officers of all rank develops. COPA assists wildlife officers everywhere by supporting the North American Wildlife Enforcement Officers Association and other conservation law enforcement groups.

Hosting a conference with nearly one thousand folks from all over the world is an excellent opportunity for Pennsylvania. The potential economical impact of this week long event is enormous. To make the conference more affordable and enjoyable for the Officers that attend, we cannot do it alone. Your support and guidance for a venture of this magnitude would be greatly appreciated. The educational value to these officers is priceless. Especially when they return to their respective states and provinces to share their knowledge with their peers and publics.

How can you help?

Hosting an event of this magnitude requires a considerable amount of goods and resources. Most of the Officers attending are doing so out of their own pockets. Our goal is to provide a quality conference for the delegates while keeping the event affordable. Your support will help us attain this goal. Monetary donations as well as goods and services are appreciated. We have developed several levels of support. Please help support the men and women that protect our fish, wildlife, waterways, and woodlands of North America. Your donation not only supports your local officer, it also supports global protection of our natural resources
